Translations and subtitling

Do you have material that you want to have subtitled? We work with the best translators, editors and (media) subtitlers. We continually pay attention to timing, reading speed as well as consistency in language usage, for instance.

Quality Control

Did you acquire subtitle files? And you want them checked and/or adapted to your house style?

Subs Media can help you develop and define your personal house style. Subsequently, our quality-control staff will check and correct your acquired subtitle files to ensure that your subtitles are of the highest quality.

Subtitles for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (or Closed Caption)

10 percent of the Dutch population is deaf or hard-of-hearing. This group is made up of people with a congenital hearing impairment, but also includes people who have suffered hearing loss due to old age or having been exposed to loud music.

As a result, there is a growing demand for same-language subtitles. By adding subtitles in the same language to material, one can reach larger groups of people.

We make a distinction between standard subtitles and subtitles with descriptions. The latter are ideal for people who are completely deaf.

Acquiring subtitle files from third parties

For existing and older productions it is quite possible that subtitles in your target language already exist. After consulting with you, we can search for existing subtitles in our sector. If they are available, we can acquire them for you, adapt them to your house style and do a final quality control check. Usually, this means a significantly lower price for you.

Bilingual subtitles

Many of our clients also operate on the Belgian market, where both French and Dutch (Flemish) is spoken.

For these clients we also provide bilingual subtitles. The standard in this sector is: the French translation on the top row and the Dutch translation on the bottom row.
